3rd Six Weeks

This 3rd six weeks was more interesting to me than the other six weeks so far, i really starting putting my hard work and dedication to my studies and what i want to do later on in life, i know at times i can be lazy and not want to do my work, but i will start it and i will try to finish it, and most of the time i do! My outside life, the one that doesnt involve school, is also very different than usual, if you can recap what my life has been before I found God, it would be like i came from a different planet or universe! I dont usually care what the world has done for me, but i try to do something that will come back to me later, and then i would feel good about myself, i like to help, alot, and id rather you say thank you, than to give me somthing in return. Anyone who ever needs help, ill be there, like this six weeks, i help as many people as i can through out school, and at home, just to let them know that im there, i would help anyone, anytime. I studied for my academic decathalon class, i have ocathalon soon, and i need to be ready! It is a hard class but i can make it seem like it was just another thing on my to do list. My church life is also great. I can learn how to balance my time for school, and my time for God. And as we all know, to me God is first on my list, it may seem like i like school, school work, classwork, and homework, but it doesnt matter to me, i like how im doing what i do, and helps me concentrate, i can focus more.
I dont like to make people think that im all about school. I mean school!! Going to tutoring, extra credit, which i do, but i can have fun too, it doesnt matter how much work i have, i can get it all done and play games. I guess that is just the work God can do for us! I love my family, friends, and myself. For Chirstmas, i stayed over my grandmothers house, i was there with my family all day, and after that, i stayed over with my aunt, and younger cousin there at her apartment. The next day, we went to the movies, North Park Mall, and we went back to my grandmothers house to stay for the rest of the day, then i went home to my house so that the next morning, i can go to church like i do every Sunday. For New years, i went back to my grandmothers house, and stayed there till about 2am. After there, i went back to my house so that i can go back in the morning when everything went back calm. As i finished off all my work, before we went back to school, i made sure everything was right and turned everything in. Now i know what to do and not what to do for the next six weeks.

NEWS!

Bermuda Says Bloomberg Promised NYPD Help

(New York Post) - Officials in Bermuda insisted New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg vowed to send NYPD officers to help with the island's gang violence problem, the New York Post reported Saturday. But Bloomberg, who has a vacation home in Bermuda, denied Friday making any such promise to leaders on the British territory. In an interview with the Bermuda Sun newspaper, Bloomberg insisted telephone help was all he promised the island's premier, Ewart Brown."I talked to him and I said if it would be useful I could get on the phone to the head of our anti-gang efforts in the police department. He said it would be," Bloomberg said.NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said in a statement, "No offer was made or agreed upon to send personnel."Instead, he said, deputy chief Robert Boyce of the department's gang division consulted by phone with Bermuda police last month "regarding strategies to suppress gang violence."Despite the political problems sending officers could cause for the mayor, Bermuda officials clearly expect stretched-out New York taxpayers to help fight crime on their money-drenched island of 68,000, which enjoys a per capita income 50 percent higher than that of the United States. But Bermuda's public safety commissioner David Burch said the island's government "has accepted the offer from the mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg, of assistance of officers."I can't imagine he is going to make a promise to someone of assistance ... and then to allow other people to preclude that this isn't happening. I don't think so," he said in a Bermuda TV interview Thursday.Burch's spokeswoman said Friday that he stands firmly behind his belief that Bloomberg promised to send officers.Bermuda's rash of four gang murders in December is barely a bad weekend's worth of mayhem in the Big Apple, which had 466 homicides last year.

Analysis:

It's just another one of those, he said, she said issues! If I were Bloomberg, I would be a bigger person and still help over there in Bermuda. Maybe Ewart Brown didn't understand what Bloomberg was really trying to say. Even though Bloomberg made it sound like he was willing to help, that wasn't exactly what he meant. So i would say that both of them are right, and both of them are wrong

NYC Man Charged With Training With al-Qaida

NEW YORK - A New York City man under investigation for his links to a terror suspect has been indicted on charges that he flew to Pakistan to get military training from al-Qaida.Adis Medunjanin was scheduled to be arraigned Saturday on charges of receiving military training from a foreign terrorist organization and conspiracy to commit murder in a foreign country. His lawyer says he is innocent. The 25-year-old was one of two Queens men arrested early Friday in connection with the investigation of Najibullah Zazi, a Colorado airport driver who pleaded not guilty last year to supporting terrorism.

Analysis:

I think that there is so much going on, especially with terrorist attacks. I would say that no one is safe anymore, you can not do the things you were able to do back then, there is so much to watch out for, that you tend not to watch out for yourself. If you could add up on how much money America has used to get security up, like at airports, and buildings, that money could of been used for something more needy like Health care. You can not trust anyone that you meet in one day of one week. Its too risky, and you could end up feeling regretful, and sad.

Teens Help Fund Locker Room Repairs

FLOWER MOUND, Texas - Cedar Hill High School’s baseball team has been overwhelmed by donations from businesses and even other students following a recent locker room break in.School officials said thieves ransacked the baseball clubhouse and stole thousands of dollars worth of equipment over the New Year's weekend. Damage included obscenities sprayed on the walls, puddles of paint poured on the floor and a smashed drink vending machine.A team spokesman said both the Twins and Rangers organizations have since donated money to help cover the $25,000 in damaged and stolen items. Players have also received support from the students at Flower Mound High School. After watching a story about the incident on FOX 4, Flower Mound senior Cassie Harwell said she shot an e-mail to her principal suggesting the school somehow raise money.“I know no one at Cedar Hill. I don’t even know where Cedar Hill is,” she said. “Just seeing the pictures of Cedar Hill and everything, it just kinda made me a little bit angry. And I was thinking about all my equipment for swimming and how expensive that is and I was like, ‘There is no way every single person is going to buy back all their equipment.’”As it turns out, the coaches in the two cities are good friends. So athletes at one school were able to donate what they could to help those at the other school.“I’d be angry if somebody broke in and dumped paint all over our new carpet and all that stuff,” said Chris Boyd, a Flower Mound baseball player. On Tuesday, other students will be asked to join in. The principal will allow anyone who makes a donation to wear pajama pants to school. The goal is to raise $1,500.“And, it’s like maybe somebody has a lucky glove that they’re not gonna get back or something and I just want to be able to replace that,” Harwell said.

Analysis:

Now would you look at that, their things taken away, maybe their hopes and dreams also, you can see that this country is getting worse everyday, the news is already depressing and then you have something like this happen. I'm very grateful that some people still have a heart, and do care for others even though they might not know them. Its people like this that make your day, and to have equipment that was stolen replaced is a nice late or early Christmas gift. If you do something big or small for a person who is not able to, it will come right back to you. For it is better to give than receive.

Kate Gosselin's New Hair Extensions Reportedly Cost $7,000

This week Kate Gosselin premiered her new long hair on the cover of People magazine, calling her new style and outlook on life "Kate Clean Slate." But if the fans who copied Kate's old spiky 'do want to follow the reality star's style lead again, they might need to take out a loan: Kate's new extensions reportedly cost a whopping $7,000. Ted Gibson, the stylist who created Kate's new look (and who was taped doing so by TLC), estimated that amount when he discussed the 20 hours he spent on Kate's hair makeover with the online gossip site RadarOnline, so we asked an expert to verify this. Turns out, she backs up Gibson's claims: “The stylist [Ted Gibson] was probably using top-quality hair. Hair costs between $500 and $2,000, and anytime you do celebrity extensions, you use the highest quality hair possible,” said the Neil George Salon’s senior extensionist (yes, that is her real title), Kacey Welch, who adds long locks for celebs like Kristin Cavallari.
Beyond the cost of the hair (she says the best for a blonde are Eastern European locks, which are the priciest), the application can be time-consuming. Welch explained, “It sounds like she got individual hairs added over her entire head, which is expensive because it takes so long to apply. And if her hair was short and she went long, she would need a lot of hair. $7,000 is definitely on the high side, but if he’s going to the client’s location, then spending 20 hours on color and cut and application, that all increases the cost.”
Stylist Ted Gibson also revealed the most time-consuming part of Kate's hair transformation: "I would say 15 of those hours were working on Kate, trying to convince her to cut her bangs,” he said. “I felt like she was hiding behind that front piece.” Gibson didn't mention whether Kate paid for the extensions herself.

Analysis:

This just makes me laugh. Can you please tell me why this is a front cover on a magazine!?! Can we get back to reality please, how are her children?? Do they have good schooling, health insurance, or even a family??? Yes they might be 8 kids but that doesn't mean that they wouldn't feel lonely. Its not everyday they wake up with a mom and dad at the same time!! Family is so much important than having heat put to your head to get some hair stuck on your scalp! Things like this makes me upset, and i hope the best for her children, i hope they don't get spoiled, and they learn the best in life, nothing is free. Kate knows nothing is free, i mean her extensions only cost her $7000.00.
